I know this is a fitness blog, but I recently posted a link for contributing money to the Haiti crisis and urging my readers to show a little compassion and then I see this video! I believe compassionate living is part of living a healthy life as it shows a concern for the wellness and happiness of others. Clearly Pat Robertson knows nothing of compassion. Here is Mr. Robertson sharing insight into why the Haitians were hit with the terrible earthquake tragedy. Apparently the Haitian government made a deal with the devil in which the Haitians agreed to serve the devil if he helped liberate their country from French rule. "True story," Robertson says. Believe it or not, the devil was unavailable for comment regarding this matter.

Ok seriously, its ass holes like this that make me feel great about being an atheist.....A deal with the devil?? Get a life dude...you sound like an idiot.
Here's something to ponder. Obviously PR is off course by several degrees. What makes it worse is how many people (many claiming to be Christians and/or better people) are using reposting his "off course" remarks and using strong language like an angry mob calling for him to be punished....sound familiar? Seriously, if Love is your religion, then be an example of that. What would Jesus do? Would he call PR names? Would he rub PR's mistake in everybody's face? He WOULD counsel PR and show him the light as well as the miracle of forgiveness. I don't care if every person in Haiti has a signed contract with the devil in their pocket, we are instructed through scripture to love our brother and help them. Even PR needs this same love and understanding. God will forgive who He will forgive but we have to forgive EVERYBODY. The earthquake and any natural disaster CAN be a blessing through adversity because it is a call to action for all people to help out and those who suffered will hopefully learn and strengthen from the challenge. The world is just a huge gym and through proper work outs we grow stronger.
We experience many things in life that are blessings in disguise. This video is a great example of what not do to if you choose to be a disciple of love and compassion.
Not all of DR is prosperous Pat, most definitely not. And I'm just curious to know when you last spoke to the Devil to know this deal was legitimate. Maybe you can have him as a guest on the air to confirm your extremely educated and highly sourced opinion.....
Thankfully Pat gives all of us the opportunity to forgive. Forgiveness is awesome and WE ALL need it. Since we all need it, we should all offer it. Yes, he is an example of a spiritual man off course, has a large audience, and is an example of what NOT to do...But what is worse? Is it right to further publicize and ridicule a person who is making mistakes? Hopefully he has been counseled and corrected by people with proper knowledge and authority. In the meantime my imperfect self will be following the sage advice of Ron Burgundy and trying to "Stay Classy."
