Wii Fit Plus
Just participated in a pretty cool little demo for the Wii Fit Plus at Target. Not only did I get two $15 gift cards (Melissa and I both tried it), but we got to see first hand what is so cool about the Wii Fit Plus! The whole system looks pretty awesome as it allows you to create a little avatar with your height, weight and age so it can estimate how many calories you burn performing the Wii Fit activities. The Wii Fit Plus is a modified version of the original Wii Fit and it includes 60+ activities including Yoga, Strength Training, Skateboarding, Skiing, Tennis, Boxing and all kinds of fun little activities. The demo pretty much got me hooked and I am resisting the urge to spend some cash on a new Wii. Seeing the Wii Fit Plus in action was really cool and I think it is a great step in the right direction for getting people to move around a little more. The games are fun, interactive and best of all they will get you some moderate physical activity! Remember from my recent posts that you will burn double the calories standing up than you will sitting down, so the Fit Plus game is already ahead of the games you just sit on your coach and zone out on. If you're looking for a fun way to boost your own or your child's activity, you can expect to spend $200 dollars on the Wii console and another $99 for the Wii Fit Plus package which includes the motion/balance board and the Fit Plus game. Not a bad gaming system and a great idea for people that want a little extra activity in their daily lives.
